This session is meant to focus entirely on you, capturing the beauty and magic of your third trimester. Your husband and children are also welcome and encouraged to come along and be a part of your session.
Our fine art maternity sessions are intimate and capture the true beauty of your pregnant shape. We use wraps and fabric to drape across your body to create an ethereal look to your portraits. We can also do topless or nude portraits if you so desire.
Come in for a Get to Know You Session, where you meet your photographer and discuss what you visualize for your portraits before you come in for your portrait session. This gives you a chance to get to know your photographer and allows you to feel more at ease in front of the camera. Taking the time to meet and develop a creative relationship is the key to creating a beautiful and unique portrait that brings out your personality.
When do I book my maternity session?
During your third trimester is best, between your 30-34th week, but any time during your pregnancy is fine. We want to photograph you while your belly is showing nicely, but before you start to feel too tired or “puffy”.
How do I schedule a Get to Know you Session?
Just call or email. The get to know you session is usually 20-30 minutes (in person or over the phone). We discuss all the details of your session; the location, the time and date, your vision for your portrait, what you will wear, etc. We also discuss where you will be displaying your portraits, as it plays an important role in how Keylight composes your portrait as well as the size of the final image.
What do we wear?
Please be sure to wear loose fitting clothing for the few hours before you session to avoid marks from bra straps or elastic waist bands. Also, it’s great to bring a dark maternity skirt and long sleeve shirt as well as a tank top that can be rolled up to expose your belly, but still cover your bust. Feel free to bring anything else you feel fantastic in or would like to include in your portraits, such as scarves, shawls or veils.
I don’t like my stretch marks?
Don’t worry, anything you don’t like can be removed. Just let us know, and they will be removed from your final portraits.
I’m not photogenic?
Don’t worry, it’s only a matter of feeling comfortable in front of the camera. The Get to Know You Session included with every portrait session, helps you get to know me and gives you the chance to voice your apprehensions, what’s important to you, your likes and dislikes, and share your vision. Thus, on the day of your session you can feel more relaxed knowing Keylight is looking out for your vision.
