My Passion

With a thirst for creativity ever since I could hold a crayon in my
hand and scribble outside the lines of my first coloring book, I have
loved the world of art.

Although many mediums have moved
through my hands, the camera was the one that really stole my heart.  I
can truly think of no better way to interpret the world than through a
camera lens.

From the moment I laid my hands on my first
disposable camera, I was smitten.  Now, years later, I still love the
beauty of capturing a single moment in time with a perfect photograph.

I believe that there are photographers and there are artists, but I
believe that only those who can combine the beauty of both worlds can
truly create a photograph that will be cherished.  I founded Keylight
Photography as a way to merge these two worlds and create images that
my clients will remeber and cherish always.

Session Details

At Keylight we call our engagement sessions, Love Story Portraits, because they’re more than just a engagement portraits.  During your session we focus on the love and romance in your relationship and bring it out with Keylight’s signature fine art portraits.

It’s a relaxed 1–1.5 hour session in your favorite spot; capturing the two of you laughing, cuddling and spending time together.  This session is a great way for you to get to know your photographer, while your photographer gets to know you as a couple; your style and your preferences.

As a result, on your wedding day, you will be more comfortable and natural in front of the camera and the images of your wedding day will be ones you had always envisioned.

Your Love story portraits are prefect for sending out with your invitations or to display at your reception in a frame or an album.

How can I get a Love Story Portrait Session (engagement session) for Free?

All  you have to do is book your wedding with Keylight Photography and you receive your Love Story Session as a thank you.

What do we wear?

Simple and comfortable! By staying with the basics for your clothing selections the focus is on you and not what you are wearing. Solid colors are best. Try to avoid logos, lettering or distracting designs.  Choose similar clothing for both of you; such as jeans and a white t-shirt or  black and white outfits makes your portrait come together.

What is the best location for our portraits?

Anywhere that is special to you.  Your home, yard, your favorite park, the beach; where ever you enjoy spending time together.  Keylight Photography also offers a complete professional portrait studio.

I don’t want a traditional portrait?

Great!  Keylight specializes in a blend of photo journalistic style and fine art portraiture.  No more “say cheese” photographs.  Keylight works hard to create a fun and easy going atmosphere where your portraits are natural; not overly posed and stiff.

I’m not photogenic?

Don’t worry, it’s only a matter of feeling comfortable in front of the camera.  The Get to Know You Session included with every portrait session, helps you get to know me and gives you the chance to voice your apprehensions, what’s important to you, your likes and dislikes, and share your vision.  Thus, on the day of your session you can feel more relaxed knowing Keylight is looking out for your vision.

What if it rains?

No problem, Keylight Photography offers a complete professional portrait studio, we can always move indoors.  If you have your heart set on an outdoor session, we can always reschedule, or just have some fun with a session in the rain.  Keylight will provide the umbrellas!

How do I schedule a Get to Know you Session?

Just call or email.  The get to know you session is usually 20-30 minutes (in person or over the phone).  We discuss all the details of your session; the location, the time and date, your vision for your portrait, what you will wear, etc.  We also discuss where you will be displaying your portraits, as it plays an important role in how Keylight composes your portrait as well as the size of the final image.
